Textiles and Tapestries: Self-Study for Envisioning New Ways of Knowing
The theme Textiles and Tapestries: Self-Study for Envisioning New Ways of Knowing challenges delegates to envision new ways of knowing through self-study. Drawing from textiles and tapestries as metaphors, we invite the S-STEP community to explore the intricate or complex weavings of learning and teaching that can inspire new methods, frameworks, collaborations, and understandings of practice. Recognizing that individual strands of experience can be woven together to form new understandings, we envision the 2020 Castle Conference as a dynamic nexus of the past and the present; of being and becoming; of teaching and learning; of research and scholarship; of objects and mediums; of creating and sharing; of the here and there; of me and you--and we.
Submitting the full paper for peer review
(The paper submission site is now open)
All accepted proposals must be developed into a 4000 word paper for the conference book. Please note, we have accepted more proposals than can be accommodated at the conference, knowing that full papers will undergo another round of blind peer review for acceptance of the full paper.
Authors are expected to submit a full paper into the EasyChair system for a second round of reviews no later than January 31, 2020. All authors will be expected to participate as peer reviewers for paper submissions.
Follow these steps to submit your paper.
1. Prepare the paper as a PDF document using these guidelines:
2. Log on to the Castle 13 site at EasyChair
Please note that the submission site for the full papers is the same as the site for the proposals. The only difference is that you will be making a new submission for your full paper rather than amending your previous submission. You can still use your EasyChair account you created for uploading the proposal, just make sure you are making a new submission once you are logged on. DO NOT UPDATE YOUR OLD (PROPOSAL) SUBMISSION.
3. Create a new submission
Once you are logged on to the EasyChair site, you will need to select new submission from the menu at the top right hand of the page. Once again:

1. Prepare the paper as a PDF document using these guidelines:
- Format the paper in the following way:
- The maximum length of the paper is 4,000 words, not including the list of references.
- All headings and subheadings should be lower case except for the first word. All should be flush left.

For the blind peer review process cite yourself in text with (Author/s, masked) and mask all references to your own work in your alphabetized references as "Author/s, details will follow in final version". If you reference more than one piece of work which could identify you or co-authors, use "Author/s, masked 1, (then 2, 3, etc), details will follow in final version." Make sure you keep a track of these to be reinserted in the final version
- Please do not use any of the following:
- Running Heads
- Running Footers
- Page Numbering
- Footnotes or Endnotes created using specialized software
- Reference lists created using bibliographic software
- Ensure any graphics, including figures and tables, are of high quality and easily manipulated in PDF format. We will do our best to include any graphics included with submissions, but are dependent on the quality of the graphics submitted.
