Textiles and Tapestries: Self-Study for Envisioning New Ways of Knowing
The theme Textiles and Tapestries: Self-Study for Envisioning New Ways of Knowing lays down a challenge for delegates to explore how the methodology of self-study can be challenged, enriched, and/or extended by new theories and ways of thinking.
Submitting the full paper for peer review
(The paper submission site is now open)
All accepted proposals must be developed into a 4000 word paper for the conference monograph. These papers are also subject to blind review and are due by the end of January. Paper submissions are also handled on-line by the EasyChair system. Follow these steps to submit your paper.
1. Prepare the paper as a word document using these guidelines:
2. Log on to the Castle13 site at EasyChair
Please note that the submission site for the full papers is the same as the site for the proposals. The only difference is that you will be making a new submission for your full paper rather than amending your previous submission. You can still use your EasyChair account you created for uploading the proposal, just make sure you are making a new submission once you are logged on. DO NOT ADD TO YOUR OLD SUBMISSION
3. Create a new submission
Once you are logged on to the EasyChair site, you will need to select new submission from the menu at the top right hand of the page. Once again:
1. Prepare the paper as a word document using these guidelines:
- Format the paper in the following way:
- The maximum length of the paper is 4,000 words, including the references. Please note this is a change from previous conference limits.
- All headings and subheadings should be lower case except for the first word. All should be flush left
- Single space all text
- Indent first line of a new paragraphs, do not double space between paragraphs
- Use Times New Roman 12 point
- Follow APA 7th edition format for referencing, and make sure your references are complete and accurate.
- ANNONYMISE this draft by removing ALL identifying information and references from the text. For the blind peer review process cite yourself in text with (Author/s, masked) and mask all references to your own work in your alphabetized references as "Author/s, details will follow in final version". If you reference more than one piece of work which could identify you or co-authors, use "Author/s, masked 1, (then 2, 3, etc), details will follow in final version". Make sure you keep a track of these to be reinserted in the final version
- Please do not use any of the following:
- Running Heads
- Running Footers
- Page Numbering
- Footnotes or Endnotes created using specialized software
- Reference lists created using bibliographic software
- Ensure any graphics, including figures and tables, are of high quality and easily manipulated in word format. We will do our best to include any graphics included with submissions, but are dependent on the quality of the graphics submitted.
2. Log on to the Castle13 site at EasyChair
Please note that the submission site for the full papers is the same as the site for the proposals. The only difference is that you will be making a new submission for your full paper rather than amending your previous submission. 3. Create a new submission
Once you are logged on to the EasyChair site, you will need to select new submission from the menu at the top right hand of the page. Once again:
- Fill in the author details. You can automatically fill in your details if you click where it says click here to add yourself. You will also need to add the other authors' names if there are any.
- In the next section called "Title, Abstract and Other Information", enter the title of your paper and, in the abstract box, write something brief like "abstract not required". You will also need to enter three keywords in the next box (make sure you enter each key word on a new line).
- In the section called Upload Paper, you can then attach your document written in step one. Please note that the system will only upload word documents.

EVERY accepted proposal must be developed into a full paper. Papers will be subjected to a further round of peer review.
Lead authors and experienced Castle delegates will be asked to review a paper in the second round of reviews.
